...from his pocket. The only reason the man pulled those items out is because the officer had drawn his gun and told him to get his hands out of his pocket.

The bigger question is why the officer stopped at this man's home, took out his camera to video him, and then approached him in an aggressive way (with his gun drawn). I obviously don't know the history this man has with the police, but I don't see anything on the video to suggest that the officer's response was appropriate.
