No, the results are not similar.
The sheer number of major basketball programs compared to the number of major football programs tells the whole story.
A Sweet 16 is equal to a NY6 game. An AP/Wooden POY is equal to a Heisman.
Making the NCAA Tournament in 8 of 9 seasons is something like being a Top 30 Football program 8 of 9 years.
Rose doesn't choke nearly every time the Cougars are favored to beat Utah.
Simply put: Rose and his program have accomplished far more than Bronco and his program have, comparatively.
If BYU had an NY6 appearance and a Heisman under Bronco, people would feel a lot different about him.
