If you can hold opposing offenses to an acceptable amount of yards and come up with INTs, then you're doing a pretty good job. If Utah was giving up 300+ yards every game through the air then I'd be concerned, but they're giving up less than 240 yards passing and they are forcing nearly 3 turnovers per game. Cal's pass defense is similar, they give up a few more yards and have forced a few more turnovers, but the level of competition they've faced also makes them look a lot better than they actually are. Am I saying Utah's pass defense is the best in the country? Nope. But they are good enough to help win games and have shown consistent improvement week to week, and I believe that you'll be able to see the difference in talent between these two defenses on the field come Saturday.
