How many coaches did Bama go through after Bear?
How many did Texas go through after Mackovic, Oklahoma after Switzer, Tennessee after Fulmer?
Those schools are college football royalty. If hiring genius coaches were easy, Texas wouldn't be 1-4. Tennessee would be atop its division.
Be careful what you wish for. There are more Crowtons than Urbans...and BYU has a number of institutional challenges that a smart coach would want no part of. I'm convinced Whit reneged because he wanted nothing to do with those challenges.
How many Crowton eras will the Fire Bronco crowd be willing to endure in the "hope" of reaching the promised land? As General Sullivan wrote, "hope is not a method."
