What if it's not just the next coach...But the next one after...and after that.
Would you accept 15-20 years? Not saying it will happen. But it happens to the creme of college football. It happened at Alabama...Florida...Texas...Tennessee...Notre Dame...
Will you stick around? Nebraska hated Solich who was pretty good, thought they could get a genius, and went through Callahan and Pelini and now Reilly.
How many coaches will you stick around through based on hope? Nebraska still sells out their stadium...Will the fire crowd stick around? Through how many?
If college football royalty can struggle to find coaches, what kind of hubris does it take to think the toughest place in the country to coach wouldn't? Not my words...Those are Lavell's words. How many temple recommend holding, genius coaches are out there? And if they are really that good...why coach at BYU and start with an arm tied behind your back?
