What will be the risk mitigation strategy for replacing Bronco?

I've seen too many teams lose or fire a successful coach only to spend the next 20 years mired in mediocrity trying to find the next Jim Harbaugh. BYU can't really afford to take a step backwards in the current climate and the chances of finding a coach that does better than Bronco given all of the constraints on the program is much lower than the chance that we take a step backwards.
