The impact can do all the screw drill can. The screw drill can not do all

I'd get the regular drill to drill holes, impact to drive screws, bolts, etc.

Definitely go lithium. Also, store inside. Cold kills batteries.

20v is preferable but more $$$ 18v is more than sufficient for a DIY guy.
