If you don't care about a possible outline of the gun (printing), I would stick with what you have. This is how I carry.
In Utah, open carry is legal, so I don't worry if my gun accidentally shows. I just use a Comp Tac paddle holster.
If you are worried about it, IWB and a smaller gun are a great idea.
