This is just wrong.
there is a huge difference between snoring and sleep apnea. I have worked in a sleep lab as I was working on my degree, and there is absolutely no connection between the Dr, the sleep lab and the company who will sell you a CPAP machine.

We had plenty of patients who we didn't recommend get a CPAP because they didn't have apneas.

Sleep apnea can become life threatening if it isn't taken care of. There is a great deal of stress placed on the heart if you don't get the rest that you need.

There are literally hundreds of different options as far as interfaces, explore them until you find one you can work with.

Most importantly don't follow the advice of folks like this who tell you not to get a CPAP machine. There are a lot of factors that go into the causes of your apnea's, and some of the appliances that get sold based on the "conspiracy" that all Dr's are out to get you can actually make things worse.
