Wow... You got me there...
So you found an article on the internet... obviously that is the way it works because nothing on the internet is ever wrong, or embellished, or made up... And there is never bad apples who are doing things the wrong way for the wrong reason...

I am a respiratory therapist who has worked in the field for almost 10 years. I spent 3 years before that working in a sleep lab. There were many patients who came through our lab that did not qualify for CPAP, and so they were not given a CPAP.

For all of the folks who did qualify for a CPAP, it was recommended that they get one. Not once did the hospital/sleep lab I work for receive ANYTHING from a DME company for a referral. Could it happen? yep, but if they are caught those involved will suffer stiff penalties and possibly the loss of their license.

I have dealt with plenty of patients just like you who refuse to follow recommendations of their Dr. and try to find their own way. There are plenty of folks who believe as you do that everyone in the medical field is corrupt and that they are much smarter than their stupid, corrupt Dr. You don't seem to understand the simple difference between snoring and an apnea, so I will make this easy for you...

You don't know what you are talking about, you don't understand the science or even the reasons that apneas happen, and it probably isn't the best thing for you to come on a message board and encourage folks to not follow the directions from a medical professional who does know what they are talking about. You say you have solved your problem, good for you.

My experience is that if a patient absolutely refuses to use a CPAP, the Dr.'s will try to find another option that will help with the symptoms, but NONE of them are better or more effective than the use of CPAP.
