Problem is, what counts as assault? Someone kissed you before you were ready?
They leaned in too close while dancing? They put their hand on the small of your back?

I talked about this with my wife and we laughed because we joke that I kissed her before she was ready. At the time she thought it over, decided she was ready, and the next day returned the favor!

But, I guess that first kiss was assault? Since I kissed her without having her sign a consent document? Where do we draw the line?

Speaking of things that are absurd, I think reporting all sexual assaults together is absurd and makes the data nearly meaningless. It makes it seem like 1 in 5 college girls will have something awful happen to them, when the number for the violent, most invasive assaults is much lower.

Until they can parse out that data to be more meaningful, I feel like we should through the 1 in 5 number away and disregard it. It's meaningless without knowing what kinds of assaults are happening.
