I disagree BYU was fired up from the way their players were talking over the 50 yard line. The Utah players were pissed they were supposed to play in a lower tier bowl against an appoinent they felt was inferior to them and they gave BYU and their players little respect as shown through out the week. Utah did not want to be there all they cared about was how they were going to spend their free time on the strip after the game. Do you really think Whit would have let them dis another appoinent like his players dissed BYU during the week? Whit even said Utah should have played in the Holiday and not the Vegas again.

As for Magnum making a freshman mistake on the fumble watch the game again the Ute defender not only chased Magnum out of the pocket but he then punched the ball out of his hands as he pulled the ball to throw. Magnum had no way to get out of bounds because the Ute defender had Magnum by the top of the shoulder pad keeping him in bounds. It was actually a great play by the Ute defender.
