I don't know that blame needs to be placed anywhere.
It is what it is. We all advocate for what we believe things should be like and some take offense and others don't.
You and I and zia and others all engage and state our feelings on the topic and do so to make others think. Some people believe you punish others for not believing as you do. Others accept differences of opinion and continue to discuss things.
