This was not my experience at all.

For me being a BYU grad and active LDS was a net positive for every interview process I went through--medical school, internship, residency, fellowship, and private practice. Granted, I've been out of training now for 12 years so maybe things have changed.

My fellowship director (Stanford, FWIW) told me specifically that being LDS and a BYU grad was a plus.
