I recently heard a story about a current stanford player, he is from Utah and during his recruitment he had offers from BYU, Utah, Stanford, and quite a few other schools. While on his first visit to Stanford he met Steve Young at church (Steve has a house very close to Stanford campus) and struck up a relationship, he stayed with him during his second visit. But during his recruitment and visits Steve Young advised him to go to Stanford and not BYU. I was surprised and pretty bummed to hear that Steve Young would tell a pretty high level prospect not to go to BYU.
