No Taysom has not played well this year, at least not to the level of everyone's expectations. If you look at his career stats, he is a 59% passer. That is who he is. If you expect anything great than that, then that is your fault.
Ty knows the importance of being a back up. Steve Young would not be the HOF QB that he is, if he didn't spend time as a backup learning this West Coast Offense and the intricacies of it. There is great value in what Tanner is doing, and Tanner would admit the same thing.
