So did Larry Bird. The science of good bball shooting is mostly between
the ears--with consistency of course also being a big factor--as well as the touch on the release.
Unorthodox form, yes--but Leifson's release is actually a thing of beauty if you ask me. Much like Seljaas's was. His ball hits the hoop very soft.
