Your ward doesn't mention this in Priesthood opening exercises?
Heck, we even utilized the Young Men once for a Cougar Club Drive. If a person signed up for a 1-year membership pledge, the Bishop would transfer an equal monetary amount from the ward's humanitarian fund and put it into the Scouting fund.
That way we helped out BYU athletics and the Scouting program with a single donation drive.
You should pitch that idea to your Bishop next Ward Council.
