I don't buy the idea that firesides were a distraction, I really don't
I've studied and done a little practice in Sport Psychology. Though the firesides COULD potentially be a distraction, its more likely that they could be used as a strength as they are embedded into a consistent pre-performance routine. If players say they were a distraction, I would fault the players for not using it more effectively (and the coaches for not doing a better job of framing them that way).
