I talked with an old friend that I used to attend football games with when I lived in Louisville, KY. We had a group that would go and fathers would bring their sons. We drove many hours to see games at Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee. I haven't lived there for a few years though and asked if he was going to the Cincinnati game with our old group. He said they weren't, and the first thing he mentioned was that there wasn't a fireside. The draw for bringing their sons for the positive influence wasn't there.

I am absolutely positive they are in the minority, but there are fans who went and the firesides were a draw.
