At the size of a GYM? It doesn't mean we think we're better, and the fact that BYU hasn't won a championship in the WCC doesn't mean we can't say it. Is this about respecting opponents or waiting till we've won a championship before we can talk smack? Disparaging comments about MWC schools are applauded on here all the time, but then "Saint Mary's GYM is small..." And then here comes the "HEY! Let's show some respect! We haven't even won the WCC yet!" PFFFFFT!

"BYU fans are the only fans obsessed with how big gym sizes are." I have no way of knowing if that's true or not. Who cares? It's ironic that your post accuses BYU fans of being obsessed with optics like GYM size. But you fail to see how obsessed you are about how our fans and their smack talk is perceived.

It makes sense for Emery and BYU fans to think and say this, whether joking or being serious. BYU's arena is MASSIVE by NCAA standards. And for that matter all Utah college GYMs are in comparison to the WCC. From Dixie St., SUU, UVU, Weber St. and USU. Now, think about the teams these kids grew up watching BYU play in. Wyoming has a decent arena, SDSU, The Pit, and of course the Thomas and Mack. It's weird to see BYU playing a conference foe in a highschool gym. But don't over think it. Don't be sanctimonious about shaming fans and players for saying it. It's harmless. They wear bike helmets and white shirts in the student section. We say their gyms are small. WHO CARES????
