My guess is that you interpreted the question in a real time scenario, whereas
most respondents interpreted it in an either or scenario - i.e. win one and lose the other. If it's win one and lose the other, I'd pick the Utah game to win. A loss to LSU isn't as shameful and damaging in the long term as a seventh loss in a row to Utah would be.
OTOH, in your own interpretation the guaranteed win against LSU is the better choice. Because if we beat LSU, the likelihood of us beating Utah is very good as well. Add to that the other rankings and stuff you mentioned and it's a no brainer.
