ImuaKahuku Walk-on
I lean towards the LSU win. It more than offsets a loss to Utah to most recruit.
A national win in an NFL stadium. Pretty big win as I see it. I don't live in Utah but I am trying real hard to move there. Of course I can deal with most Ute fans. Anytime I do encounter one I disarm them by telling them I cheer for them outside of the BYU game because they have the second most RMs of all CF teams and I want our RMs to be successful. I also let them know that a lot of my friends had kids who were able to go to college and get a degree and a good job because Utah gave them a scholarship. BYU can't give a scholarship to every kid (although I encourage any kid who gets a BYU offer to immediately accept it and look at it as something way more precious than any other offer). I admit if (hopefully when) I live(d) in Utah I would need a lot of patience for the fake Ute fans that are only fans because they are anti-BYU (and anti-LDS). Those are the ones that make the whole thing nasty. It doesn't help that there are some holier than thou on the BYU side but in my experience there are very very few of them. Most like this don't even like football or most sports (my MTC comp was one of them 😖).
But to me the argument is moot. I expect a win against both. My stand has always been that I never concede a loss. Call it blue goggles or whatever you want. I call it an attitude of expecting to win every game. I felt it before the game vs Miami and against OK I turned to my son right before halftime and said we were going to win. That was about 20 seconds before the camera caught Max saying it and then my son understood why I said it.
