BYU was favored in many of these games and the U won outright.
The 54-10 loss was the first time I have ever seen a BYU team quit against their rival. Spoke to some former players and they were embarrassed to be on the sideline. BM did treat this like any other game and for the life of me I could never understand how a kid growing up in Utah County and having an older brother play for the Y could never understand the significance of this game. This was my biggest complaint about BM.
