USU has a new president and unlike the last one doesn't have strong ties to BYU and BYU's current Admin doesn't have any ties to USU. The only reason the two even play each other IMHO has more to do with the BOT than anything else and that is changing very rapidly. The USU alums are fewer and farther between than in the old days and I doubt Gary Stevenson carries much weight yet.

I would not be surprised if USU isn't dropped from the BYU schedule very soon. There is no reason to renew the agreement, it only benefits USU and they no longer need the BYU attendance to meet the D-1 requirements....yes that was a reason for BYU to play them in Logan in the past. I say let the dog lie, we can schedule somebody else and we can always schedule a bye on conference weekend if it is that big of a deal....not like the fans watch conference on Saturday anyway...a good majority just download it and watch it through the month. This is not your father's BYU or LDS Church.
