And ESPN has traditionally offered every independent a deal. Temple was offered a deal when they were independent. Army and Navy were offered deals.

You can argue that the deal wouldn't be as lucrative. But 90% of fbs schools if they went independent would have an ESPN option. The differences would be money and time slots.
