Exactly. I work with a lot of USAFA grads. They all say BYU was the worst place
to play. They said fans and players would just say nasty, mean things.
I say “oh, like ‘I hope you lose! And you suck! What, did you think BYU was coming to Sunday school? This is football. Deal with it.”
It’s like they have a mental image in their heads about what a Mormon school is going to be. And getting punched in the mouth doesn’t fit that picture so their minds can’t candle the dissonance. So they hate.
I guarantee they get the same treatment at any place they played. But versus BYU it’s supposed to be different for some reason.
