Right now there is no downside to getting ignored, so certain posters act in a
way they would not, if there were actually some downside. They look at the amount of people ignoring them as a badge of honor.
If being ignored meant you couldn't see that poster's posts anymore, people would think a bit more before they posted. Consider the effects and consequences of their posts more and it would improve the board overall.
It used to be a feature, and the board was better back then. Since that was removed there has been a steady decline in the board and more and more people have gone FO.
