Has to be two things. Level of Drama and Civility. So I would say
make it a closed secure system that vets account holders before they can participate and add persons real name under their avatar. I stopped using board names that were not my actual name in 2003 and it hasn't impacted me negatively in any way since, crossing two continents.
I think if one's real name was posted it would change demeanor greatly because you are more accountable for what you say and how you act.
