You are wrong on two counts:
Bronco was 3rd. Reid was first, but was never really an option. Whittingham said yes, but then Utah counter-offered, and he stayed at Utah.
Now, the entire defense went to Tom and about 6 offensive players went. It was closer to 30 then what you're saying.
