How does Independence make it "unnecessarily hard on the coaches to recruit?"

Who are the recruits who won't come to BYU as an independent but will as a member of MWC?

How is the recruiting pitch easier? Unless that means the coaches give up going after higher profile recruits against P5 schools. I guess that would be easier on the coaches.
