Indy isn't working out; join the AAC while they still want BYU
There is nothing wrong with trying something new and it not working out. When you stick with a failing experiment, then you are making a mistake. It's clear now that Indy is not working. How many more seasons does BYU sink into irrelevance before they realize that Indy was not the way to go?

BYU failed in its first attempt to get into the Big 12. They should have offered anything possible to get in, and instead they let TCU and WVU take their places.

BYU almost joined the Big East, but decided not to. Maybe had BYU joined they could have shored it up with Boise State and kept other schools from fleeing. Instead, BYU stayed Indy.

When the Big 12 talked expansion again, BYU's stock had already fallen. BYU fell to 3rd behind Cincy and Houston, though none made it in.

The AAC really wants BYU. It's the best conference that wants BYU football and its basketball is better than the WCC. Best jump at a chance to join a good conference than watch the program sink further to where the MWC looks like a reach. It wouldn't hurt BYU moving to a P5 conference, but would stem the bleeding that we are watching today.
