I feel similar to the original post. Not old, but around long enough to remember watching the '84 Holiday Bowl and going to games in Provo with my Dad to watch Steve Young and Jim McMahon. I have never seen a team with so little heart. It was there since Portland St, but I hoped it was just poor prep and playing down to the competition, but the LSU game was atrocious. I turned off 2 games this year at half time. I haven't turned off 2 BYU games EVER, let alone in the same season. I couldn't invest my time on a team that literally played liked the couldn't give a (edited to avoid suspension) about the game. Sitake's demeanor as the season went on was also a problem, he never looked like a leader that could rally the troops and I lost confidence that it was going to turn around. To be honest, I still am not sold that he can do this.
Lavell, Crowton, and Bronco all had some bad years, but nothing has shaken the program or the fan base to it's core like this past season has. Heavy is the weight on Sitake's shoulders, I sure hope he proves he is up to the challenge.
