For one, because we don't make P5 money, and because we are run by the church, salaries for assistants like OC's is just not going to allow us to go after a proven commodity.

and those are guys that would likely take the job.

Then you have a few outsiders like Bob Stitt.

ARod. Not active in the church. Fans hate him (even though he may be more qualified than most of the realistic names being thrown around), and he is still getting a pay check from Utah. Could probably keep getting that check, stay inactive, and remain a consultant as well.

Guys like Grimes are taking an obvious step down in pay as well as a huge increase in risk and responsibility.

Andy Reid probably wouldn't even come for the HC position.

Darrel Bevel. No chance.

Add in the instability of the coaching staff, the honor code...

We just don't have a lot of realistic choices.
