I'm not laughing at people excited by the solar eclipse. I get that it is a unique and interesting experience.
I have family that are really into it as well as a co-worker.
I realize that some people are much more into astronomy, stargazing, etc. than I am.
Calling it a "life-changing event" feels like you've drank a little too much of your own kool-aid though.

I thought the same until I saw 2017. It was pretty incredible. Not just the eclipse, but to see everything around us get
