Total solar eclipses happen every few years, but locations are around the world. Often in the middle of the ocean or a barren continent. So it’s hard to be in the right place without travel.
Last year was an “annular” solar eclipse which was different since the moon wasn’t close enough to fully eclipse the sun.
The difference is like looking at a ditch vs. looking at the Grand Canyon.
Surely you understand the phrase “once in a lifetime” is overused, but for most, due to location and luck, a total solar clipper is “once in a lifetime”.
