Every group has its hard-core idiots...
...even BYU fans.
Glenn Potter received numerous threatening phone calls when he brought the first black basketball player to BYU back in the early '70s.
Different world now, sure, but you still have parents in Utah County who, upon seeing that their kids' swimming instructor is black, will ask for a different instructor. Can't do much about hardcore idiots like that; they're usually as stubborn as they are obnoxious.
That said, I'm extreeeeeemely skeptical of these reports about racial slurs at the MC and LES. Been going to games there for 35 years, and I don't recall ever hearing any.
