issue at RE first hand. My dad took me to the BYU-Utah game in '84. He and I cheered for BYU, but we tried to be good guests and not get over the top loud or annoying. We were much more quiet than at games in Provo. When it became apparent that BYU was for sure going to win (it was a reasonably close game), we heard a loud "OOPS" from the guy in the row behind us, then several seconds passed and then my dad was soaked in beer. And don't give me the, "beer is too precious a commodity because you have to smuggle it in" line. It was sold at the concession stands in '84.
Dad was 6'2" and a solid 260 at the time. The dude behind us was scrawny and he was very lucky dad was an incredibly patient man.
True stories of U fans and beer exist. They are probably a small percentage of the experience that most people have. But they have and do happen.
