It is crazy how afraid of the future the Utes have become now that they are in the Pac 12.
Just play BYU, home-and-home, as is. If you win consistently, you'll finally look to all the nation as if you've passed BYU by. If you don't win consistently against BYU, at least you won't look as if you ducked a tough game for an easy win. You'll gain national respect.
Stop being afraid of all the what ifs . . .
What if we don't have as much money as Oregon?
What if we don't have as many home games as Arizona?
Look, BYU is the only one not being afraid in this discussion. They want the game, home-and-home, as is--no strings attached. If the Utes can't accept that, then it's time to let the rivalry go.
It happens all the time. Partnerships break up because one member becomes too self-important and too greedy to work things out on fair and equal basis.
