We have to remember that when they signed the last 2 for 1 they were in a crumbling conference with a very bleak future; i.e. they were desperate. Now they're in the MWC (not a great conference, but they're certianly stable and not in danger of fading into oblivion as with Idaho) and with their emerging program, can you blame them for being upset?

They beat UNLV this year, and now have a much better football program that's only been improving for the last 3 years. It's not just their fans, but Gary Anderson as well will not sign off on another 2-1 and I'd bet he now has enough pull in Logan that the administration will listen to him. Does USU benefit from playing BYU more? Absolutely. But to say that they need to schedule BYU to survive doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
