Maybe maybe not. I highly doubt it though. A move to the MWC does several things
that would not be good for recruiting.

1. It's a sign that BYU no longer plans to "try" to compete at the highest level. If I'm a parent of a 4 or 5 star kid, I don't care how much they want BYU, I'm counseling them to go somewhere where they can compete at a higher level and I can actually watch their game

2. A Move to the MWC means you are no longer on ESPN. BYU plays on ESPN networks 8-9 times a year right now. Moving to the MWC means we play on CBSSports or some other obscure place like Facebook 8-9 times a year

3. Right now BYU plays all over the country. They get good exposure nationally and play in front of an audience outside the intermountain west. That goes bye bye in the MWC

4. Realistically as a member of the MWC, the best you can hope for is a chance to play in a NY6 game at the end of the year. (Which in reality means much less than it used to with the playoff now in place) Do you care about Central Michigan, UCF, Hawaii, Northern Illinois? All NY6 particpants and I don't think anyone would consider them big time

5. Not to mention our money situation becomes exponentially worse which affects everything you do as a program
