Effects were great
And general idea was fine IMO.
But the family dynamic was dumb. Eleven didn't need to be in the movie. Should have cut about a half hour total. And yeah, the mom was nuts.
I'm adding "flying base" to my list of ominous signs in a movie. First Avengers, now Godzilla whatever universe.
I though Kong Skull Island was more fun. It was more stylish and controlled.

It was made for audiences in Asia. Any US money is bonus. Many Hollywood films are now made for Asian markets.
