. . . and the movie was still awesome.
And you ask how does that script get greenlit? Pretty easily, and correctly, given the fact that is has already made more than twice what it cost to make. Including some of the money you presumably paid to see it.

Saw the new Godzilla over the weekend. How do movies like this get made? The script seemed to be written by a 12 yo.

It was made for audiences in Asia. Any US money is bonus. Many Hollywood films are now made for Asian markets.

Because monster vs monster violence. Script doesn't really matter in a movie

You're surprised by this? Did you miss the 7 or however many Transformers movies?

Luckily, I have missed all the Transformers movies. I guess I won't be watching them now.

They're so awful. Not even the fights are fun.

Only the first one was somewhat ok... All the others are total crap...

Someone made a movie about a tornado full of sharks.

I agree completely. It marred a film that should have been about monsters

You ever seen any of the old Godzilla films? From the 1950's-1970's?

Yes, but the old movies rarely took so much time on human characters...

Good point. When I was a kid, I loved Godzilla. I even rented audio versions on vinyl from the library to listen to.
