That's the philosophy of the USC coach that cost him the game
His philosophy was we have this great air raid offense, and it doesn't matter what defense is being played. Even if BYU is dropping 8 into protection, we're still going to be aggressive and throw the ball around. That worked out well for them with the 3 interceptions.
In football, if the other team gives you and advantage, you take that advantage and leverage it as hard as you can. If defenses are going to double Bushman and tie up an extra player in coverage there, BYU has a 10-9 advantage everywhere else on the field. You use that advantage and leverage it as hard as you can. You see the results vs. USC where they spent the entire game double-teaming Bushman. We completed passes to 11 different players. And we beat a team that outclassed us in talent by a million miles.

I don't think you throw to him unless he's open. If he's getting double or triple-teamed, somebody else is open.
