play or the LBs got around the edge for a shoestring tackle to stop key drives. There were a few drives (I believe 3rd downs) where the LB made a stop and USC was forced to punt.
That's the risk of our zone, if he doesn't make that play, USC walks right in. Kudos to our guys, they stepped it up. Sure they had a few passes, but for the most part they ran it quite a bit in the 3rd and 4th.
It wasn't pure air-raid until the OT, when we got another INT.
On the defensive side of the ball, the difference between Utah and USC is that we made those edge plays and line plays. Against Utah, we did the same against all RBs except Moss......Moss was a freight train and couldn't be stopped by our defensive scheme and Utah ran over us.
I only listened to Tenessee, but it sounded like they should have ran more too.
So the key vs. Washington is if our DL and LBs can make the containment play on 3rd and 4 (or less), or we lose the game.
That's how I see it.
