When we don’t start really playing defense until they’re on our 20, what
Difference does it make if we turn it over in their 20 or ours? (Except for the fact that we don’t allow them to burn 4 minutes in the process of getting it from their 20 to our 20 and we don’t exhaust our defense while they do it).

Nobody is blaming the D for this loss. We just aren’t accepting this defensive scheme as some brilliant strategy. It’s a DUMB way to play defense.

Why is it better to get the ball on our own 15 four minutes later than getting it on our 35 (after holding on 3rd and 11 on their 30 let’s say)?

Our current strategy makes that claim. It’s stupid. We are in a perpetual state of prevent defense. Our coaches don’t trust our players to not give up the big play, every third down.

Obviously we don’t see the game
The same way. You go ahead and cheer every time we give them a first and I’ll cheer every time we stop them.

Even with the 4 turnovers (I’m not going to count failure to convert on fourth as a turnover if you refuse to count giving up a 3rd and long as a failed turnover), we still would have won with a couple more possessions and some non idiotic time management.
