At the end of the day it's CICO
but, for most people, the type of food consumed goes a long way towards being able to control caloric intake.

Generally speaking, it's much easier to achieve a calorie deficit eating mostly real food with lots of protein and fiber as opposed to eating mostly processed food with lots of refined carbohydrates.
