The company nearly went out of business when a client that accounted for nearly half of our business unexpectedly cut us off abruptly one day.

THe company survived on fumes for a while until another company purchased it. Two years after I was laid off, they contacted me to ask me to return because business was back to normal.
I left 2 years later, but returned again 2 years after that and still with them.
