What really surprises me is the amount of money that families are putting into things like High School rodeos. I guess I’m specifically talking about barrel racing.
It’s not in common to spend 10’s of thousands of dollars on a good horse (if you want to compete). Then they buy a nice expensive horse trailer. Then they buy a nice new truck to pull the trailer. Then the added costs of fuel, food, etc.
I don’t think most of them are necessary super wealthy people anyway.
Same could be said of dirt bike racing and other sports where you have to spend a lot of money to be competitive.
