Right after it happened I got a new job in SoCal, it paid well and with the recession apartments were cheap, I lived in an apartment that was on the beach for $825 a month. Then after saving up so much money from living so cheap in LA, I moved back to Utah and bought a house in early 2013 at near the bottom. Now I have a paid off house high on the east bench. The recession was the best thing that could have happened to me. My chosen career is also kind of countercyclical, so when times are great, I'm doing fine, but when times are bad I'm doing amazing.
